Build the founder, not just the startup.
Why Founder-Being exists
Founder-Being exists to help people become the kind of founder who can keep going: evidence over assumptions, customers over opinions, progress over polish.
The wider community — meetups, conversations, shared practice — is distinct from Founder-Being LaunchPad. LaunchPad is the structured 16-week programme.
Why LaunchPad exists
Young builders should not have to wait years, or spend a decade of expensive mistakes, to learn how founder work actually feels.
LaunchPad puts workshops, customer conversations, building, experiments, mentor feedback and accountability around your own venture.
Philosophy
Don't study startups. Build one. The programme is execution-led: you test a real problem, idea or proposed solution and turn evidence into a credible venture direction.
The Initial Founder Assessment is free. Completing it is acknowledgement-only.
Founder / team
Jimmy James is Founder and Programme Lead. He founded Plantshop.ae, which received investment from 500 Global in 2018, and has built through fundraising, product, customers, operations and pivots.
Verified founder experience and education are listed on the apply page. Organisations named there are not LaunchPad partners unless separately stated.
What we believe

- AI is leverage, not judgment
- Founder wellbeing matters
How Founder-Being differs from LaunchPad
Founder-Being is the broader founder community and practice. LaunchPad is the 16-week venture-building programme with a published cohort, curriculum and admission process.
Community connection is offered only where it is approved and relevant for your stage. It is not unlimited mentoring and it is not admission to LaunchPad.
